Just as the process of creating value by creating a product is called "production", the process of creating value in services is called "servuction". Servuction is concerned with the type of interactions and the sequences and frequencies of these interactions between the different elements on which services are based, such as scenarios, spaces, users, staff, tools, consumables, etc. These elements and their mode, sequence and frequency of interaction to generate the service experience (where consumer value appears) depend on each specific category of business tourism service. Applying the ReSOLVE strategies in the servuction process of the different categories of tourism service businesses is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It presents differences and particularities that we outline below, highlighting the unique aspects of each category.

Deep Dive into Key Topics
ReSOLVE in Accommodation
Hotel and Accommodation is the most important business category in terms of ReSOLVE because it incorporates all the service blocks and allows for the application of all the ReSOLVE strategies.

ReSOLVE in Food & Beverage
Within the application profile of ReSOLVE, the control of wastage in consumption and the reuse of food and drink leftovers that may be generated during processing are of great importance. Use leftover coffee to make iced coffee.

A circular food system would be regenerative, resilient, non-wasteful, and healthy. Reconnected nutrient loops would encourage the rehabilitation of degraded land. Farms would be located close to consumers through urban and peri-urban farming. Organic agriculture would minimise the need for fertiliser and pesticides. People would receive high-quality, non-toxic food for a healthier lifestyle, while digital solutions would match supply and demand, creating a less wasteful, on-demand system. Food costs per person could be more than 30 per cent lower than today.

ReSOLVE in Tour and Guiding services

Planning and minimising the carbon footprint impact of routes is very important. Do not leave a trace behind you.

ReSOLVE in Tourism Local Mobility Services
Virtualisation and sharing are very important in this category of business. For example: the sharing of cars, electric bikes, mopeds and scooters. In the photo is an electrical minibus.

ReSOLVE in Tourism Events and Entertainment Services
The organisation of access, sustainable consumption, cleanliness and information-related issues is very important to work on in this category.

ReSOLVE in Tourism Retail establishments
The proximity and accessibility to the user, the km0 of the products in the assortment, the sustainability of the materials of the products sold, and the minimised and sustainable packaging will be fundamental in applying ReSOLVE in this type of business.
